Mosquito Ecology & Management

My program investigates questions related to disease-vector mosquitoes in water-holding natural (e.g., tree holes, plant axils) and artificial (e.g., discarded tires, buckets, trash) containers, stormwater structures (e.g., retention basins, drainage ditches, wetlands), and coastal salt marsh.

We work in close collaboration with researchers from the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies, University of Maryland Baltimore County, Rutgers University, the School of Public Health at the University of Maryland, Parks and People Foundation, and numerous community-based organizations.

Specific projects:

Management of The Asian Tiger Mosquito

Tip n Trash Program

Urban Disamenities and Pests

Invasion Ecology of Mosquitoes
