Jason Manzon
ENST student Jason Manzon was awarded a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Hollings Scholarship last semester for his academic excellence and involvement in the First Year Innovation & Research Experience (FIRE) Summer Fellows Program.
He and his teammates conducted research on Citrus Canker, an invasive citrus disease that causes lesions on the leaves, stems, and fruit of plants. His ultimate goal is to estimate the optimal level of Citrus Canker infestation to help maximize profits for citrus crop farmers.
The Hollings Scholarship program provides successful undergraduate applicants with awards that include academic assistance and a future paid internship at a NOAA facility.
