November 18, 2020

Nathan Sedghi, an ENST PhD student in the Weil Lab, was awarded the honor of Best Scientific Poster Presentation submitted to the 2020 AGNR Cornerstone Event under the strategic initiative category: Ensure a Clean and Healthy Chesapeake Bay. The poster, entitled Multi-species cover crop, soil type, and fertilizer influence nitrous oxide emissions by Nathan Sedghi, Michel Cavigelli, and Ray R Weil was based on two experiments testing cover crop mixes planted into standing corn and soybeans, and their impact on nitrous oxide emissions during the cover crop growing season and the cash crop growing season. The AGNR 2020 Cornerstone Event had approximately 25 submissions (posters with 5-minute oral presentations viewable at the event webpage) for the graduate student poster competition.
